PDP Presidential Primaries Update
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) conducted their Primaries elections on May 28, 2022, at the Moshood Abiola Stadium and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar emerged as the winner and thus, Presidential Flag bearer for the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
Alhaji Abubakar got 371 votes from the People’s Democratic Party delegates to become the much coveted PDP Presidential Flag bearer.
Iyorchia Agu who is a former Nigerian Senator and currently the Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee, has urged all party faithful to remain united and determined to work together in the aftermath of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) 2024 presidential primaries.
This he said in reaction to the rift that was stirred up as a result of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s emergence as the party’s presidential flag bearer, instead of a southerner as it was believed that it was the south’s turn to occupy the seat of power.
The Executive Governor of Rivers state, His Excellency, Nyesom Wike, had even mentioned that the south-south governors weren’t supportive and united in ensuring the emergence of a Presidential candidate from the south in the People’s Democratic Party.

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, however, was reported to have gone to visit some PDP Governors in the south region in what was believed to be a search for a running mate for his presidential race.
PDP Presidential Running Mate Update 2024
The Board of Trustees (BOT) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) had joined in the search for a vice presidential candidate for their flag bearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
Senator Dr. Walid Jibrin, the current Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT) made this known in a statement he made. They finally decided on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Executive Governor of Delta state in a bid to showcase the inclusiveness of their presidential aspiration.
