The South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) is a South African government agency established on 1 April 1998 as a result of the 1998 South African Maritime Safety Authority Act 5.[1].
The entity is responsible for the implementation of current International & National Regulations regarding the Maritime Industry as well as upon all recreational marine vessels within its jurisdiction.

Responsibilities
The following are some of the responsibilities which the jobholder will be tasked with:
- Recommends project/ programme governance structure
- Recommends the PMO standards/methodology
- Manages, project teams, reviews and quality assure work of team/
- Co-ordinates steering committee activities in consultation with Sponsor
- Engages with multiple and diverse stakeholders so that expectations are managed, and the project is delivered successfully
- Manages external service providers
- Managing customer satisfaction within the project transition period
- Conducting post-project evaluation and identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements
Eligibility Criteria for SAMSA Recruitment 2024
The requirements needed for SAMSA recruitment 2024 are as follows:
- Prospective candidates must have a Degree in a Maritime Studies or Business Administration, Economics, or a similar field (NQF 7)
- Prospective candidates must have Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or qualification is an added advantage
- Prospective candidates must possess a minimum 7 years of related work experience, with 3 years in a Middle Management/Supervisory position
- Business analysis experience desirable
- Experience in delivering changes which impact on organisational effectiveness
